Our son is gifted, autistic, and ADHD. We spent years looking for a school that understood both who he is and how he learns. We never found it, so we built it.
Stefano is one of the most curious, creative, intensely engaged people we know, a kid who devours ideas, masters every device he touches, and uses AI as naturally as most children use a pencil.
We looked across Miami for years. Every time, we found the same problem: the right thing in the wrong container.
Montessori gave him self-direction and hands-on learning, but the classroom was large, and he spent too much time waiting. For other kids to be ready. For his turn. For a pace that matched his.
One-to-one solved the pace, but took away the thing he also needs: other children. A community. The feeling of belonging to something larger than himself and his guide.
Remote learning removed the commute and the sensory load, but the screen flattened everything. He didn't engage the same way when the person on the other side was two-dimensional.
Every setting got something right. None held all of it at once: the right pace, depth, community, and environment. So we built the one that does.
We don't know exactly where Berek came from. Fano is what we call him at home. He arrived at the name on his own, the way he arrives at most things: fully, and without needing to explain it to anyone.
It felt right to name the school after him. This whole thing is, in the end, for him, and for every child like him who deserves a school built with them in mind.
